My name is Ava Barvian. I am an sophomore studying Advertising and Digital Media Production at Drake University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
One characteristic that drives me day-to-day is my creativity. I am constantly looking for new ways to visually express my thoughts and ideas as artistic statements. Applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign have allowed me to give concepts deeper meaning.
My Interests and Skills
I am a small business owner on Redbubble and Etsy. On Redbubble I have created designs that are printed on stickers upon request of buyers. In recent months I have been striving to increase the number of designs listed on my shop which has driven sales. On Etsy I sell book related prints and in the past have sold keychains as well. It has been exciting to see my shop grow and expand to different countries.
I am an avid reader and one of my favorite authors is Emily Henry. In 2022 I read 137 books. I post book related art and edits on Instagram and Twitter (mostly in the past). My direct messages are also open on Instagram to provide anyone with editing assistance and advice. Additionally, I provide Canva templates for some of my Instagram posts. Canva is a tool a majority of people can access and my templates are a resource anyone can use.
Future Plans
Before I graduate Drake I would like to go abroad to Rome. I have always been fascinated by ancient history.
In the future I hope to gain more experience possibly working with a company to grow their presence and success on social media. I plan to continue working in the Midwest when I graduate from college. In the long term I want to move to the East Coast and pursue future endeavors there.
